Give Claude Desktop one memory for every chat.

Add Bilinc to Claude once, with one address. What you tell Claude is there in every new chat on your desktop, on claude.ai and on your phone, with where it came from and every earlier version.

Set it up.

Claude Desktop connects to the hosted server at https://mcp.bilinc.space/mcp and signs in with OAuth, so there is no key to copy.

  1. Add the connector. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector. Name it Bilinc and use this URL.
    Connector URL
    https://mcp.bilinc.space/mcp
  2. Sign in and choose access. Claude opens bilinc.space. Sign in or create an account, pick a workspace, and choose read-only or read and write.
  3. Ask Claude. Turn Bilinc on in a chat and ask, for example: “Check Bilinc: what did we decide for the billing database?”

Or use the local adapter

If you would rather run the local adapter from the bilinc package, install it, sign in, and print the config. This prints the block and the file Claude Desktop keeps it in.

Terminal
pip install -U bilinc
bilinc login
bilinc mcp install --client claude-desktop

What it changes for Claude Desktop.

Without a connector, each Claude chat starts from what you paste into it. With Bilinc, Claude can recall what you told it in earlier chats, and each result carries its source, its last update and its version, plus a marker when it is past its review window.

Claude can't silently overwrite your memory. remember only creates new keys; changing an existing memory goes through revise, and revising, forgetting and rolling back always ask you first. Every write records the connected app as its source, and every change is versioned.

Connectors you add on the web or desktop are available in the iOS and Android apps, so the same memory follows you to claude.ai and your phone.

Things to ask.

Ask in your own words; the agent picks the Bilinc tool that fits.

  • “Check Bilinc: what did we decide for the billing database?”
  • “Remember that the launch checklist now includes a pricing page review.”
  • “Create a Bilinc snapshot before we reorganise these notes.”
  • “Compare Bilinc with yesterday's snapshot and tell me what changed.”

An instruction you can add

Add a line like this to your own Claude instructions if you want Claude to check before relying on a marked memory. It is your instruction to Claude; Bilinc does not change how Claude behaves.

Instructions for your agent
When Bilinc marks a memory as possibly outdated, ask me whether it still holds before relying on it.

What Claude can do, and when it asks.

The connector’s tools, as the remote MCP guide lists them. A read-only connection only sees the four read tools.

The tools of the Bilinc connector
ToolWhat it doesAccess
recallSearch memory; each result carries its source, last update and version, and a marker when it is past its review window.read, runs without asking
list_snapshotsList saved checkpoints.read, runs without asking
diffCompare a checkpoint with the current state or another checkpoint.read, runs without asking
statusWorkspace, plan, credits and whether this connection can write.read, runs without asking
rememberStore a new memory. Never overwrites an existing key.write, runs without asking
create_snapshotSave a checkpoint of the whole workspace.write, runs without asking
preview_rollbackShow what a rollback would change and issue a confirmation token.write access, changes nothing
reviseReplace a memory, or confirm it by sending the same value; the old value stays in history.write, Claude asks first

Questions.

Do I need an API key to use Bilinc in Claude Desktop?

Not with the connector. Claude opens bilinc.space and you sign in with OAuth. The local adapter reads the key bilinc login saved on your machine.

Does the connector work on claude.ai and my phone too?

Yes. Add it once in Customize → Connectors; the same connector works in the browser, and connectors you add on the web or desktop are available in the iOS and Android apps.

When does Claude ask before using Bilinc?

Reading, remembering a new key and creating a snapshot run without asking. Revising, forgetting and rolling back always ask you first.

What if a memory is old?

Recall shows how long ago each entry was last written or confirmed and marks it once it is past its review window. Nothing is hidden or deleted. To confirm a marked memory that still holds, revise it with the same value.

How do I disconnect Claude?

Under Connected apps in the Bilinc dashboard, which cuts it off immediately, or remove the connector in Claude.

Bilinc connects the same way everywhere.

One workspace, every client. The memory guides and comparisons answer the questions underneath.
