Give ChatGPT a memory you can look back through.
Add Bilinc to ChatGPT with one address. What you save is there in later chats, shared with Claude and Codex, and every memory keeps where it came from and its earlier versions.
Set it up.
ChatGPT connects to the hosted server at https://mcp.bilinc.space/mcp and signs in with OAuth, so there is no key to copy.
- Add a custom MCP server. In ChatGPT, open Plugins in the sidebar, then choose Add → Add custom MCP server. Name it Bilinc and use this URL.
Server URL https://mcp.bilinc.space/mcp - Sign in. ChatGPT opens bilinc.space to sign you in. On the approval screen you choose the workspace and whether the connection is read-only or read and write.
- Ask. In a chat, ask ChatGPT to check Bilinc, for example: “Check Bilinc: what did we decide for the billing database?”
What it changes for ChatGPT.
Bilinc is a memory you keep across apps: what ChatGPT saves, Claude and Codex can recall, and each memory records which app wrote it. Recall returns each entry with its source, when it was last written or confirmed, and its version.
Saving is careful by design. remember only creates new keys, so a new chat cannot silently replace what you stored earlier. Changing a memory goes through revise, and the old value stays in the history. Bilinc marks the tools that change or delete an existing memory as destructive.
A read-only connection only sees the four read tools, so you can let ChatGPT look things up without letting it write. Disconnect it at any time under Connected apps in the dashboard.
Things to ask.
Ask in your own words; the agent picks the Bilinc tool that fits.
- “Check Bilinc: what did we decide for the billing database?”
- “Remember in Bilinc that the design review moved to Thursdays.”
- “What changed in Bilinc since the snapshot from last week?”
- “Show the Bilinc status for this connection: workspace, plan and whether it can write.”
An instruction you can add
If you want ChatGPT to use Bilinc in a particular way, put it in your own instructions. It is your instruction to ChatGPT; Bilinc does not change how ChatGPT behaves.
When I ask about earlier decisions, recall them from Bilinc first and say where each one came from.
Only save to Bilinc when I ask you to.
Never save passwords, API keys or other secrets. What it can do.
The connector’s tools, as the remote MCP guide lists them. A read-only connection only sees the four read tools. Whether ChatGPT asks before a tool runs is up to ChatGPT.
| Tool | What it does | Access |
|---|---|---|
recall | Search memory; each result carries its source, last update and version, and a marker when it is past its review window. | read |
list_snapshots | List saved checkpoints. | read |
diff | Compare a checkpoint with the current state or another checkpoint. | read |
status | Workspace, plan, credits and whether this connection can write. | read |
remember | Store a new memory. Never overwrites an existing key. | write |
create_snapshot | Save a checkpoint of the whole workspace. | write |
preview_rollback | Show what a rollback would change and issue a confirmation token. | write access, changes nothing |
revise | Replace a memory, or confirm it by sending the same value; the old value stays in history. | write |
forget | Remove a memory from recall, with a recorded reason. | write |
rollback | Restore a checkpoint using the preview token. | write |
Questions.
Do I need an API key to use Bilinc in ChatGPT?
No. ChatGPT opens bilinc.space and you sign in with OAuth. There is no key to copy or paste.
Is this the same memory Claude and Codex use?
Yes, when they are connected to the same workspace. What ChatGPT saves, Claude and Codex can recall, and each memory records which app wrote it.
Can ChatGPT only read my memory?
Yes. Choose read-only on the approval screen and the connection only sees the four read tools: recall, list_snapshots, diff and status.
What is sent to Bilinc?
Only the arguments of the tools ChatGPT calls: memory keys, values, queries and checkpoint ids. Nothing else from your conversation is sent.
How do I disconnect ChatGPT?
Under Connected apps in the Bilinc dashboard. It cuts the connection off immediately.
Bilinc connects the same way everywhere.
One workspace, every client. The memory guides and comparisons answer the questions underneath.
